INTRODUCTION

Bijoy Pal Memorial B.Ed. College has always upheld a strong tradition of academic excellence blended with social responsibility. Our institution not only nurtures future educators but also shapes them into conscientious, service-oriented citizens of India. Through our active National Service Scheme (NSS) unit, we take meaningful steps toward building a responsible and compassionate society. We believe that the best institutions should provide not only quality education but also install values that contribute to the nation's development.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a central sector scheme under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. Launched in 1969, the birth centenary of Mahatma Gandhi, the NSS aims to develop the personality of students through community service. It is a voluntary movement that connects students with the broader community, fostering a spirit of social responsibility, leadership, and cooperation.

The motto of NSS, "Not Me But You," embodies the spirit of selfless service and democratic living. It highlights the importance of individual contribution to the collective welfare of society, reinforcing the idea that personal well-being is closely tied to social well-being.

The NSS unit at Bijoy Pal Memorial B.Ed. College was established with the vision of empowering students to bring about change through active participation in social initiatives. Over the years, our NSS volunteers have engaged in a wide range of impactful activities including cleanliness drives, health awareness programs, blood donation camps, plantation drives, celebration of national and international days, awareness campaigns on menstrual hygiene, and community outreach. These initiatives have not only benefited the community but have also enriched our students with real-life experiences and values that will guide them throughout their lives.
